Gordon Thane, BMSc, MPH, PMP® is a Program Coordinator at a Health Unit in Ontario, Canada, where he focuses on addressing substance use, mental health, and supporting the local COVID-19 response. Gordon recently received Health Promotion Ontario’s Lori Chow Memorial Award in 2021 for his leadership and advocacy related to anti-Black racism, focus on equity in programming, incredible innovation in health promotion, and dedication to mentoring students and early career professionals.

Leshawn Benedict, MPH, MSc, PMP® is a Community Manager for a Global Health Community of Practice with over 250 members across 35 countries, focusing on Neglected Tropical Disease programs. Leshawn is a dual certified Project Management & Digital Marketing Professional and he is interested in how we can learn and use insights from different sectors and disciplines to enhance public health and global health practice.

Sajjad Fazel, PharmD, MPH is an internationally recognized public health professional with over 5 years of experience working in health policy, advocacy and communications. Sajjad is currently the Manager of Research Impact at Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. Devoted to science communication, he created the Afya Yako program – a health promotion initiative that improved the health literacy of over 100,000 Tanzanians. Sajjad has also been involved in COVID-19 misinformation research and his work has been featured in major news outlets including BBC, CBC, CTV and Global News.
