WHAT DOES PUBLIC HEALTH MEAN TO YOU?

Public Health can be seen as the fundamental of health system that addresses health status of population and its determinants. Public health also means collective efforts of different professionals to provide essential health-related services in communities to promote health equity.

WHAT WORK DO YOU DO IN PUBLIC HEALTH?

I have been working as public health professional for more than 8 years, particularly in the field of Maternal and Child Health, Public Health Nutrition, Health System Strengthening and Public Health Research in Myanmar. My passion and interest in Public Health is to find effective solutions to address barriers to behavior change. In addition, I am always curious about discovering new methods, better approaches, and innovative innovations in public health targeted to conflict zones and very remoted areas.

YOUR PUBLIC HEALTH MESSAGE?

The role of Public Health in health system is now critical. Strengthening the Public Health infrastructure in communities is a very important step. Public health messages are key to implementing behavior change, however, it needs to be clear, reliable and simple to ensure message quality, in turn facilitating better research on the impact of health messages on behavior. Also thinking out, delivering right key messages to the right people in the correct ways is an essential component of effective health promotion interventions. We must continue to encourage and support public health research and highlight the important role of public health professionals
