Set against the backdrop of the opioid epidemic in the United States and Canada, a Biology professor, a single-mom, and an undercover FBI agent find themselves at the crossroads of the Opioid crisis as Big Pharma brings a new product to the market and drug trafficking runs rampant. This story is depicted in the fictional film, Crisis (2021), and in this episode, we will use the movie as a scaffold to discuss the drivers of the opioid epidemic in North America and the broader public health concerns for our society.
